One of my neighbors down the road had 3 box turtles that they rescued and didn't want them anymore and they are going to be moving in a few months so they gave them to me. One of the turtles has a few cuts and scrapes on it, 2 nails missing and a little chip on the shell. I had called the vet and sent them pictures they told me they didn't take turtles but they told me to get Betadine from the store and put it on the cuts and scrapes. I got the First Aid Antiseptic for it. How many times do i put it on there? Can i just put it on with a q-tip??

Betadine should not be used repeatedly. Same with peroxide. Once or twice is enough. And yes you can put it on with a Q-tip. You can put Neosporin on afterward if you want to.

...the reason being, Betadine inhibits the growth of new cells. It kills germs, but like Leigti said, should not be used more than once or twice.

Chlorhexidine 4% would be a better choice. Mix 1oz. Chlorhexidine to 32oz water.
