I've been working on the 3rd children's book in my series about the tortoises in the creep that I live with; a proof copy of Aretha's book is on its way to me.
The first book was about Chili, the grumpy tortoise. The second book was about Darwin, the tortoise who started life thinking she was a boy-tort and then found out later that she was a girl-tort. This 3rd book is about Aretha outgrowing the other tortoises in the creep she lives with in New Hampshire, and coming to terms with being really large (and also with being different). I've got the 4th, and 5th books also planned out, although I haven't started writing them.
I've done some readings and presentations at local area schools, and had good discussions with the classes about tortoises and the struggles the tortoises in my books have.
