I think I got it all planned out. I am working on the table and then expanding my pole barn another 40 feet for the winter time when he will go outside. I am open to any unexpected things I will come across and pointers/advice for when the time comes.
I am building one similar to the wooden box and I am going to line the bottom and side walls with a rubber shower liner. You can purchase it at almost any home depot, lowes, or plumbing supply store. It is roughly $5 a foot.
I already have a good game plan on how to tackle that. I have the area for him/her to roam and the area to build housing to keep him in the winter time. Thank you for the heads up.
I googled tort tables and found what appeared to be some well constructed functional tables but are costly. I personally looked at multiple images and pulled ideas from each to build one myself. It may end up costing more and my kids might wonder why the table is cooler than their bedrooms but...
Have you heard any good or bad things about backwater reptiles? I saw one website that listed information that contradicted everything I read about them right down to where they were from in Africa.
Salcata tort. I saw one at a pet shop and after reading some of the comments and your articles I started looking online for a place to purchase. The pet shop didn't have a hide for the tort and makes me question wether they in fact know what they are doing.
