Being informed matters. (a few general questions)

My guy went on a hunger strike for almost 4 days when I switched him to his all greens diet. The key is not giving in, he will eat the good stuff eventually and he'll be healthier and happier. I also have a kiddie pool enclosure, and it was the best $10 I ever spent on my Squishy Boris! I grew...

Tortoise table? Help! Lots of questions

I've been looking into marine paint, the kind to paint boats. Several people on the forum have suggested that in other threads that I've read.

    Russian Tortoise Indoor Habitat

An easy and inexpensive Russian enclosure that me and my Squishy Boris have grown to like is a plastic kiddie pool. I got one for him about a year ago, and it was a sizable upgrade from the bookcase I had him in. I personally had a really hard time finding old furniture like bookcases and...

    New enclosure

The soaking dish that I use for my tortoise is one of those Terra Cotta planter bases that you can find at any garden center. Just be sure to change it daily, more so if it gets dirty.

    Testudo mix

I just use regular organic soil for mine, I don't know exactly what perlite is, but if it's already in the soil, i'm pretty sure it'll be fine. I don't think you'll have any trouble growing them, by the way, as long as they stay watered, they'll grow like crazy!!

    Loss of Power

It beeps once if the plug looses power, i checked that when I bought it. I think the incessant beeping is protecting from an overload as cowboy ken stated. I just had to move one of my plugs to a different outlet in the room and all was well! It wasn't a serious problem, it just made my reptiles...

    Loss of Power

This hasn't been suggested yet, and I don't know what more experienced owners think of it, but I bought a power strip type deal with a battery backup. It was around $80 online, and three of the seven plugs stay on for a total of 8 hours if power goes out. So I've got my uvb ans ceramic lights...
