Yes you can and Geronimo loves it. I actually grow a few small pans of it and stick them in his habitat and he just goes nuts over it. I do small pans because he cleans it up pretty quick and I don't want him to overstuff himself LOL. Plus I want him to eat other foods too.
I don't give very much at a time and not that often. When I do it's a few pellets mixed in with his weeds. To me I treat it more like a treat than a meal. I have tortoise pellets and now Mazuri readily on hand during the winter months just in case for some reason I start running low on the...
Yeah the 72 number didn't sound right to me. I was just kind of concerned if it started getting below 60 in the area of the house he is in. I pretty sure it won't, but it also depends on when we decide to get the furnace going. I really don't want to do night time heat unless we have to. I...
I got my Hermann tortoise, Geronimo, on July 29th, 2016 through Tortoise Supply. I did a lot of research and looking around for almost 2 years before. I AM VERY VERY VERY HAPPY with my little guy. The correspondence was excellent, they answered every question I had and listened to my...
Doing research and I get conflicting info on temps at night and what's to low. Anywhere from 72 is to low to as low as 50 is fine which is quite a difference. Geronimo is doing good, he has been a little slower to get going in the mornings now that it is cooler but he makes sure he makes...
Looking for experienced opinions. What are the best thoughts/ideas on night time heat. Our weather here is starting to cool down. For us humans it's nice but not cool enough for us to turn on the furnace but it also means cooler in the house. I have been keeping on eye on Geronimo's...
With fall coming on and my natural outside food selection supply for Geronimo is starting to dwindle I am looking at some other variety food options. Yes I have lots of things planted indoors for the winter months but looking for an addition so I don't go through the indoors plants to quick and...
Lol, no gets up and looks at me like, hey it's to early. He acts like a kid getting ready for school. I do have live plants in his habitat about 3 times a week. Mostly broadleaf mix. I can't just leave them in all the time because he just will mow them off in a day. I have some wheat grass...
Strange question here. I have noticed that Geronimo reacts in his routine around the sun coming in through the windows. Could this be part of it? Just following the natural outside environment.
I'll have to check on that. Just got a new thermometer yesterday, havent put it in yet. His routine in the morning he comes out strolls to his water goes through it, sometimes soaks in it a while, then he strolls over to the food. Usually eats pretty good then strolls to his rock, stretches...
We've had Geronimo for 2 months now and he's doing great and a joy to have around. He doesn't seem to be a morning person lol, which makes him fit in this household well. He prefers his meals in the the evening. Just wondering if anyone else has picky little guys and if your guys are evening...
