    Shell injury

Hi! My son was carrying our sulcata and dropped him. The edge of his shell was broken off. How should I treat it? Donut seems ok, after the initial shock he is now having a lettuce treat. This is the edge of his shell over a front leg.

    Scraped spike off of leg

Not sure. It's possible it happened when he was trying to get out of his pool. I cut the side of a plastic kiddie pool so he can get in and out on his own, only he hasn't figured out how to get out once he's in there. He tries to climb the pool wall instead of walking over the part I cut out. I...

Donut lost a spike on his leg. Should I put anything on it? I don't want it to get infected.

    Earthworms

It has rained recently, but I haven't seen any live ones above ground lately. These were in our driveway. We don't use any chemicals on our lawn (and it shows, too, lol!), but I'm pretty sure our neighbors do. I guess we will try to find them before he does and keep taking them away from him...

    Earthworms

We take our 8 month old sulcata outside every day for grazing and exercise. He finds dried up dead earthworms and tries to eat them. He's small enough we can take them away, but he doesn't let go very easily! He really wants to eat them. Should we let him?

    Tortoise in the Classroom

You should check with your maintenance manager to find out what the after hours temperatures are set for. It can get very uncomfortable after hours in a school. You may also want to make sure your heat is plugged into an outlet connected to the generator system. Not all of them are.

    Hello!

We have had a sulcata hatchling for almost a month. He(?) was about 6 weeks old when we purchased him from a woman in Daytona. My son (11) has named him "Donut" (My vote was for Sam or Frodo, but since the tortoise was bought for my son, he had final choice.). We love him! I have to admit, he...
