Yvonne, you're so right I really feel I've let these guys down. They are real pets to us, especially mojo our 14year old male (who looked ok yesterday, but died overnight) he was a real character and a charmer both with us and his ladies.

new RT's left eye (word and pic heavy!)

The dye is Fluorescein it comes on a paper dip stick and the vet just touches the eye with it. it shows up scratches and damage to the cornea. I've found Terramycin eye ointment to be a very effective starting treatment for sore eye in red foots.

    Dog Poop

Well the adult worms are 3-4 inches long, but they live in the intestine and are rarely seen, usually when the population of worms in the gut is large and some adults abandon ship by leaving via the mouth or cloacae (which is kind of stressful for the animal and the owner.) The eggs, which are...

    Dog Poop

Eating dog poop isn't good in my opinion (I'm a lower vertebrate parasitologist) many reasons, Ivermectin drug residues from worming treatments for one (Ivermectin is fatal to tortoises). I'm not sure there are any huge dietary benefits for a tortoise eating dog poo (or any mammal poo), but...

New - need Hermann help please

We call it the "CSI position" when they bask like that, all they need is white tape around them and the effect would be complete.
