    Are these okay for leopards?

Thanks! I only picked the Dame's rocket out of those cuz they smelled so sweet so even if he couldn't eat it I would've kept it for myself. I gave it this morning along with other weeds and it was the first thing he munched on!

    Are these okay for leopards?

Thanks for the help. Just a few more I found. I believe these are succulents but not quite sure if they are okay for torts. I know one of them is echeveria which I know is okay, but I could be wrong.

    Are these okay for leopards?

I found these flowers in my backyard and I was wondering if these weeds/flowers are safe for tortoises. I'm not sure what kind they are. Thanks!

    New enclosure for my Leo

Thanks for the info. Do you have to germinate your grass seed first by soaking in water overnight or just straight on the soil? I know for wheatgrass soaking overnight helps with the sprouting. Also have you had any trouble with white mold growing on your wheatgrass? I know this is a common...

    New enclosure for my Leo

Do you use soil or coconut coir to grow your wheatgrass/grass? I'm thinking about growing some wheatgrass in my enclosure as well. I've been growing in a planter, but they yellow too soon before I get a chance to harvest. I'm wondering how long they last in the enclosure.

Yep! That's why I took it post poop! It would have given me an inaccurate reading. :)

Leonidas has grown in just 1.5 months!

I feed him a mix of spring salad and either kale, dandelion, wheat grass, and spider plant. I'm growing my own plants for him to eat too, but so far just spring mix combo. He eats A LOT! sometimes I wonder if it's too much? We love the colouring on him too! We weren't sure if he was going to...

Leonidas has grown in just 1.5 months!

Little Leonidas has been enjoying his home, running around his enclosure, climbing his rock house and doing laps during the day. He has been eating loads and every time I come home, his plate is empty. Here is a before and after picture of him. I haven't weight him yet (will do so tonight) to...

Yeah I guess the name suits him then! No Leonidas, the rock cave is not the Hot Gates!!

    Leonidas the Spartan tortoise...

I do have two cats, but they're not persian, just your good ol' regular tabbies. I haven't tried moving the hide to the opposite end, but if I do I would probably have to move the heat lamps too. One other difference between the two hides is that the humid box is a mix of sphagnum and cypress...

    Leonidas the Spartan tortoise...

This is Leonidas, we are assuming it's a he for now. I have posted a little bit about him but would like to get a little bit more feedback now that I've set up his new home properly and have measured him and have him eating a varied diet. According to the lady who was selling him at the Reptile...

For Those Who Have a Young Sulcata...

How often can succulents be given to leopards? Prickly pear seems to be one of the hardy cacti that grow in cold Ontario!

baby leopard in non-humid box all day, but humid box at night

Thanks! Will get on getting some better grub tomorrow. I guess I'm just not used to thinking the weeds of Toronto can be used as tort food. I've already ordered the thermostat for the CHE and waiting for it to come tomorrow. I'll be lowering the MVB light to get it up to the 100F region. Thanks...

baby leopard in non-humid box all day, but humid box at night

Another noob question, how often should my little tort be pooping? He pooped twice on our way home from the expo (I'm assuming from stress) but hasn't pooped since, even during his morning/evening soaks. He only eats about a dandelion leaf or half a kale leaf a day and I'm wondering if that's...

baby leopard in non-humid box all day, but humid box at night

Thanks for the info, I will look into getting that thermostat. And thanks, he's quite the cutey. I'm hoping his pyramiding will stop now that he is in a nice hot and humid environment. I should have clued in that they weren't being housed in a particularly humid environment when they showed me...

baby leopard in non-humid box all day, but humid box at night

Thanks for all the input. I think that thermostat is a bit too much for what I need plus it's really pricey. There are some outlet thermostats that I've found online that I will probably get. But there aren't a lot of them, most are for home use, or even if it is an outlet one, the probe is...
