Hermann tortoise are not mention to eat fruit I know they like the grapes but they can't handle the sugar in them , lettuce not very nutritious mostly water but if u do give lettuce lamb's lettuce is a good one , cucumber sparingly along with a mixed diet of weeds & flowers , tomatoes only...
Looks like a Hermann but shell a bit flat but that maybe be because his diet lacked calcium or he didn't have a uvb light before you got him ?? There is a great group on Facebook called tortoise keepers they are very knowledgeable
I have had them ten year's & it's just what they are use to , when they go into a corner & stay put I know it's time to put them back in the table & like I say I always supervise them I could sit & watch them all day lol they fascinate me
Yes it's not like they roam about all day all over the house , if they haven't been outside at all one day due to the weather then I usually just let them have a a walk about the dinning room after their bath for a little bit and always supervised I wouldn't let them get into any harm but...
Bath time - obviously they get outside as much as possible but on colder days ( I'm in UK ) they are in & often enjoy some out of the table time indoors
I'm not sure on that breed as mine are Hermann torts & I read that they go off their food , sleep more sometimes behave different ie aggressive & can dig a few practice nests . Also that they can retain eggs for a long time even years & retain sperm so don't have to have been in recent content...
