Firstly I should correct that, I meant to write petstore not rescue and basically because she feels that she has no other option. She has just recently provided treatment for a URI, she loves the tortoise but she has no more money to provide any further medical treatment. It was recommended to...
I have been in contact with someone in Portland. They have a redfoot that is in bad shape. I'm in Canada. They want to adopt it to a rescue who had given them terrible advice. Cam anyone help please.
It really has no depth at all, it's OK for now but I'd rather something at least 3 inches deep. With the lid she just gets it dirty within seconds of me filling it.
Hi thanks for replying, as I mentioned above, she has an 8x4 foot indoor and outdoor enclosure. We rent so no adapting any rooms haha but she is quite comfortable in her home. I will check out the enclosure thread though, as I'm always looking for ideas to improve the space for enrichment...
Hello, thank you for your reply, we have all of those things you've mentioned actually ? Great tips those! They have been used heavily over the 8 years we've had her. As she is a yellow though, if you have one you must know, she loves to soak and enjoys a spot to do that in her enclosure too.
This is Shungu, she is approx 7 or 8 years old. She is 15.5" long and 13" Wide Yellow-Footed Tortoise. I got her from a petstore where she was marked as a Redfoot when she was a baby. I worked at the petstore and cared for her there but I couldn't provide the best conditions for her and no one...
I am fairly new and I'm trying to create an interesting and varied diet for the love of my life ;) Shungu (means heart in an amazonian tribal language) a baby yellow footed tortoise, under a year old, maybe 7-8 months.
So normally we do collards, curly endive, Dandilion greens, wheat grass...
Thank you. It is not raised and believed to be a scar. I will know more when I take her to the vet for a check
Up and I will be sure to post an update when I do. Thanks for the advice/support.
Someone else has suggested that it may be a nodule from too much dampness. This could be very true as that area might never dry. As far as an antiseptic what would be tortoise safe? How about polysporin? Thank you very much for your replies! I very much appreciate it!
This is my new tortoise Shungu, I am wondering what the white scales on her head, and this white spot on her neck are? They just popped up yesterday. TIA for your assistance in this matter.
