Is this new growth on shell? Good or bad?

Only saw the first part of your message before I replied! They did not have any of what I think is the growth this has happened over the last couple of months, it started off sort of as white lines between the shutes. What a great idea to trace them! I will do that now. Thank you so much

Is this new growth on shell? Good or bad?

Hi Yvonne, yes they were not kept well before I got them, they were given to me in a guinea pig cage! They have an enclosed home now the humidity is kept high, normally about 90% and they also have a good diet now. I was just wondering if the new growth they seem to have is good? I don't know if...

Is this new growth on shell? Good or bad?

Hi, I was after some advice on my tortoises shell growth. I have had my 2 red foot tortoises for a few months now. They seem to have some new growth but does it look good/smooth? Is it just the shell growing? it sort of looks a bit like the shutes are separating but I'm not sure what the...

    Strange behavior HELP!

I've decided to leave her to it and I'll check on her first thing. After reading the post back I've realized I may be a bit paranoid that something strange is happening when it's not and sitting up all night cos my tortoise dug a hole is maybe a bit strange. The tortoise is probably even...

    Strange behavior HELP!

I don't know her exact age but was told they where approx 5. The only picture I have of her underneath is not very good and I don't want to disturb her now. I thought I might be stressing her out watching over her so I'm now sitting the dark listening for strange noises! Didn't think I'd ever...

    Strange behavior HELP!

One of my red foots has dig a hole in the enclosure and is acting really strange! She is sitting with her bum in the hole she dug pushing her head back and forth and there are some strange noises coming from in there. Hard to describe the noise but maybe slightly like a long popping noise but...

    Identification

Hi thanks, these are not my tortoises. I have 2 red foots :) they belong to a friend. I was just hoping for identification so I can then look up individual care requirements and point her in the right direction. It's hard to tell someone that they shouldn't be kept together if they have been...

    Best humidity reader?

Thank you again! Their temps look good but as the humidity isn't accurate I've ordered the gun so I can double check them. I just can't see how the humidity could be 69% different in the same enclosure, even if they are in slightly different areas surely the humidity within an enclosed area...

    Best humidity reader?

Hi thank you, I also thought they would all do the same thing whatever brand but I have 3 in the tank now all with different readings! The black one is just the little box with no probe and the white one has a probe. Now I don't know whether to trust the temperature on them!
