    Should I release her?

I am pretty sure the ones from petsmart/petco/etc ARE raised on corn bedding (as it is always advised not to buy them from pet stores for suggies).

Good to know, thank you! When would they be considered out of their adolescent stage and into their adult stage? Takes a few years to reach adulthood if I remember correctly? And which brand supplements would you recommend? Haven't owned any pets in a loooooooooong time that required...

Thank you! Need to look into a ceramic heat emitter for sure... just grabbed what I could at the time. Thank you for the suggestion :) Also on the list is a timer for the UVB! They seem to be doing GREAT on humidity now with what I'm doing so I won't get too crazy... I mist their cage at least...

We have pretty high humidity here (St. Louis), but we are not prepared to keep them outside atm. We just moved into a house and we're working on getting the yard under control so we've been spraying for weeds... so I don't trust letting them in the yard until spring (or maybe later, depending...

The issue right now is the bag of mulch has big chunks of wood in it... so while I'm digging around, I think "Oh! Found one... nope, just a chunk of wood". At least with coconut coir if I feel a chunk chances are very likely that its a boxie. When they get bigger this won't be a problem, but...

Am considering switching to coconut coir... Just spent another 15 minutes trying to find them. Can't panic about them escaping because there is no way they got out, and the room is closed off from my cats/dog getting in for that to be an issue, either. The second I put them in, they immediately...

OK, another question.... what substrate do you prefer to use for these guys indoors? Using cypress mulch now, misting and pouring a few cups of water into the substrate daily... it seems to hold moisture well; my issue with it though is that I tend to lose these little guys... the larger one...

    Should I release her?

Regarding crickets... I know with my sugar gliders that it's important not to feed crickets that have been raised on corn-bedding due to the risk of aflatoxins that are toxic to suggies... is this not a concern with these guys? ((sorry for going OT, but was just a question I've been wondering!!))

OK so I picked up a better basking bulb, a thermometer/hygrometer, and some nightcrawlers tonight. Humidity in their cage is ~75% before I misted it, closer to 80% afterwards. And then I dug them out and offered them a nightcrawler... and these two just absolutely came to life! The smaller one...

Unsure of humidity as I haven't purchased a hygrometer yet, but I do mist them/their cage multiple times a day. I discovered I DO need a warming basking light as its only getting to be about 82*, maybe 84*... The one I bought apparently isn't cutting it. Will swap that out for a warmer one this...

Oops... realized I forgot to answer the question about protein... we were told they were being fed nightcrawlers once a week, so I have not offered them any yet. And I also forgot to mention with their greens I am also offering diced frozen strawberries that I've let thaw (as I already had some...

Oh, you are all wonderful, thank you so much. We picked them up from a reptile expo. The breeder seemed to be very knowledgeable and was very patient to answer my hundreds of questions... however, I was fully well aware that their main goal was to sell to make profit. I checked to make sure...

New Owner to Two Florida Boxies

Hello all! I've recently acquired two Florida boxies and was hoping for some helpful advice on husbandry for these guys. I was told they were between 9 to 12 months old, and was told **roughly** they are a male and female (but it can be hard to tell, due to their small size). I have owned...

Thank you all very much! Tortoises have always been something I've been very, very interested in. I make sure to research any animal extensively from multiple resources that I consider owning. I appreciate all the helpful links and suggestions :)

Hello all :) RVT from St. Louis, MO. Have owned tortoises/turtles in the past (had a Russian, RES, and "box turtles") but none currently. Moving in a month and would really love to add one or two of these guys to my family. Doing a lot of research on these guys before making a commitment...
