If you follow our packaging guidelines, including 3/4" insulation and heat pack use as directed, shipping with a daytime high between 38F and 70F with a heat pack is safe and predictable. The overnight lows are relative to the daytime highs. You can see full temp and heat pack use guidelines...
Exporting can be a difficult and complicated task, especially for those unfamiliar. For a single pet animal like this, your best bet is to work with an export broker and let them do the legwork and use their expertise. You can try Michael Cole at Ballroom Pythons South, he is the broker we...
Perhaps you are just looking at the public rate. As I posted, contact Judy and she will be happy to get you a custom rate that will work for you, even save you a couple of bucks.
They aren't legit at all, no. They ship with UPS, but UPS very specifically prohibits the third party shipping model. They try and operate under the radar, but it won't last long. I see they have already pulled their Facebook page, because that is just a bit too visible.
UPS recently...
There are different variants on this type of instruction, but I really like this card that JD Constriction includes with their snake sales. Wouldn't be hard to modify it appropriate for tortoises, specifically the feeding part. I do still agree with letting it alone for 5 days. It is just SO...

Shipping heat packs can be a fine back up choice. If that is the intended purpose, I would recommend getting the 72 hour heat packs.
They last the longest, and also don't peak as hot. They are excellent for a shipping choice as well, because of the temperature profile.
I would recommend...
Oh how I wish that thread would go away, I meant to contact TF staff about it a while ago. That isn't proper shipping technique at all, and doesn't meet the packaging requirements for live reptiles for FedEx (nor ShipYourReptiles).
I know it is nearly 10 years old now, but I would hate to see...
Shipping can seem daunting your first time, but it is actually a simple and safe experience.
If you ship with proper packaging (very important) and within proper temperature parameters (also very important) you should expect complete success. Most animals shipped are babies or juvies, and they...
Summer shipping in the heat is tough. It is a lot easier to ship in the winter, as opposed to the heat of the summer.
For spots like Arizona, or Las Vegas, it can be especially challenging. Over 100F in either shipping origin or destination is extra difficult.
As some mentioned, dropping off...
We have a couple of How-To photo galleries on the ShipYourReptiles Facebook page, I will link them below. BUT FIRST, a couple of important notes-

Sorry you didn't see us at the show you attended Will. We don't do a ton of shows. We only actively ship from two shows, Daytona and Fall Tinley Park. They are the only ones with even a hint of a need for shipping from the show. Those are the two shows we will def have more than one staffer at...

The shipping example linked here in the thread is actually NOT a good way to ship tortoises, nor does it meet the live shipping requirements of FedEx or UPS. An insulated box with at least 3/4" insulation is required, and aside from the thermal regulation it provides, an insulated box also...
You shouldn't have any fear of proper Overnight shipping.
The entire industry and hobby is driven by the ability to ship reptiles safely and responsibly around the country, and the world, every day.
Overnight shipping in proper packaging, and following proper temperature guidelines, is safe...
As mentioned, use the smallest box you can safely use, as you will normally be paying for dimensional weight when shipping live reptiles, so the larger the box, the more expensive it is to ship.
Our Get Help section is packed with info, but here is the link right to the Dimensional Weight FAQ-...
