    Concerned mom

Hi! So soaking one of my tortoises, I check on him/her and realize SOMETHING sticking out of its tail. Needing to know if it's a "he" exposing himself or if something is wrong! He/she is about 4 and a half years old

    Sexing

So I have a question about the sex of my tortoise. It's 4 years old and I thought she looked like a her, but today something came out of "her" tail that makes me question it so I'm curious for your all's opinion. I'm concerned maybe it was something wrong with it so any help is much appreciated!!

    Should I get another?

I have had 2 leopard tortoises for 3 years now, and they seem to do well together. Usually they're found sleeping together; only occasionally have I ever witnessed them being mean to one another. I know leopards are independent, but when I had bought mine, my dad insisted I have two so that they...

    Head Size

So I've been curious for quite a while about why my two tortoises, round about the same size, have such different size heads! Lol.:D It's funny but one has a head that seems huge, it's more of an oblong shaped shell. The rounder one has a little head. They're the same age and it's just kinda...

    Leopard friends

My two leopard tortoises I got together when they were babies.. well now, almost three years old, one is deciding to sleep in the opposite corner of where they both usually sleep. The reason I'm curious about this is because the night heat light is kept on the one side. I'm afraid he'll get too...

    New Leopard House!

So after 3 long days, my dad and I have completed Blue and Leo's new house! Featuring one basking area (uvb and basking light), one CHE, and one 24" florescent tube light. We have plastic to cover it, and right now just monitoring temps and humidity. Attached is a picture of the old and new :D

    Ceramic Heat Emitters

So I'm planning on building a 4×8' for my 2 leopards... I plan on having a florescent tube lights on each end along with an additional UVB light with a basking light. I want to put one CHE in but I'm not too sure on the specifics. Should I get two? What wattage would be best? It'll probably be...

Lighting and Bulbs for my new set up

I know there's a lot of talk over which type of bulb to use and all that. *for the uva/uvb* So I'm asking, incandescent or florescent? Any specifics? And why? I'm also going to install a different heat light for night time, any recommendations? This will be for a 4'×8' that I will be building...

    Pyramiding, scutes, diet, humidity

I have had my two babies since July 12, 2012. They stared out on romaine lettuce and about 6 months ago, switched to spring mix. They're kept in a nice 46×22 (I think that sounds right) and it's open cage. They have a long uva/uvb light and a double dome light hanging down, one heat and one...
