This might be a really obvious question lol, because it seems like obviously there has to be some sort of nutrients in aquatic plants. My turtle is eating the plants like crazy, and I love it. I’m considering getting a whole separate aquarium just to grow plants in so I can put them in his tank...
Thank you! I have the lights on the mesh right now because I don’t want them to fall in, but I ordered stuff to hang them! So they’ll be hanging soon. I also ended up putted the exact same piece that is on the intake on the output, because I had a spare. So they are the same on both sides, my...
Okay awesome I’ll use that pipe and I don’t know if it’s like actually struggling or maybe it’s just he actually has room to be swimming now whereas before he only had to paddle or stroke his arms and legs once or twice and he was at the top. Now it’s like he glides up from the sand an inch or...
Any idea if I can use the same pipe and slotted fitting for the output too? I have a spare one of those, but the current output is too short to get it any lower. I don’t know if that slotted fitting will disperse the water correctly or not though. Also, with the water level, I have notice since...
So with the out put the tube is super short and I can’t get it to go any lower. I tried lol because it’s super loud like this and I had to turn it to the glass and add rocks to lighten it hitting the sand. I plan on getting some extra pipe to make it longer so it will go into the water. I do...
Yeah these Facebook groups I’m in makes me wanna scream, it’s like the person that approves every posts, comments first and just lets you know you’re wrong and your turtle is gonna die and that you also need to buy 300$ lighting… on every post no matter what it’s about. 😂 yeah. I have been...
So I posted this in a Facebook group and everyone is freaking out saying the turtle is going to drowned bc of the water level and the filter is gonna suck the turtle up and kill him. Is this true? The turtle seems fine? Has swam near both the intake and output and has no trouble near the intake...
So I ended up just putting it in today and I figured that out 😭 I think I have it rigged though so that the water isn’t causing too much pressure anywhere. He doesn’t seem to be bothered by it and actually keeps swimming over by the output like he really likes it 😂
They stay this little for that long? So
They stay this little for that long? So if you’re saying he/she is about 1 1/4 year right now and they’re still so tiny? I had no idea they stayed so little so long!
Realistically, it’s probably 10-15 gallons. It’s a 40 gallon tank but I have a hatchling in it, I wanna know if I can use a penn-plax cascade 1000 or if that filter is gonna be too strong. I have no idea about filters, I didn’t even know what a canister filter was until a week ago. I bought this...
When I found them they were swimming for dear life at the top of the pool, it was terrible. I have no idea how long they had been in there. I hadn’t been at that pool for two days, so it could have been awhile. There was another baby at the bottom of the pool, who I’m sure not long before I got...
Yeah, they are ending up in the pools and I’m finding more dead than alive. 😔 I’m assuming they are just finding the pool before the pond. I will call some sort of rescue tomorrow and see what they say, I don’t wanna just leave the turtles to die and I definitely feel like they wouldn’t make it...
Yeah I’m sorry I didn’t clarify that, I’m finding them in the pools. It’s really wild, I am finding A LOT of them. I guess as they are leaving their nests to find water they are finding a pool first? Unfortunately most of the babies I’m finding aren’t alive anymore. 😔
