So our baby Hermanns is 2 months old and we currently have it in a partially closed chamber with humidity varying from 50-90%. Wondering at what age he/she will no longer need the closed chamber?
Thanks. I plan on covering it when she will be out there for longer periods but for the remainder of this year she will only be out for short periods and supervised. She is just a baby so until she gets older she will be in her closed/semi closed chamber indoor enclosure.
She is just a few months old. I have her in a closed/mostly closed chamber enclosure now. Humidity is 90%-60% depending on the end of the enclosure. She will only go outdoors for short periods until she is older.

We just replaced the Eeptichip and Eco Earth with Microchip and like it a lot more. Not as messy, easier for our fort to walk on and keeps humidity even better.
We just got a baby Hermanns. I’ve mixed Repti Chip as I have a lot for our Ball Pythons and then mixed it with Eco Earth. I think this is working very well. The Repti Chip holds humidity very well which baby’s need and the Eco Earth kind of levels it out a little.
Hi everyone. We finally decided to add a baby Hermanns tortoise to our family. My daughter has been wanting one for 2 years now. We have 7 ball pythons and 7 leopard geckos as well and are breeders. I’m really intrigued with this little one! Looking forward to learning from this forum.
