Hey everyone(:

I live in Sacramento, CA. I have a baby leopard tortoise named King Koopa. Currently trying to make his living situation amazing and that is the main reason why I'm on here. He is my first tortoise. I have had many animals such as turtles, dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, a toad and a snake. But this little guy is a lot different from them. Currently only had him a couple of days, he has all the essentials, but I hope to be adding some extra things into his environment soon. If anyone has advice for places to buy different varieties of food in the area or even online that would be much appreciative and I would also love to see other peoples tortoise pens. I diy'd mine out of a under the bed storage bin for now and will need to up-grade him in maybe a year or two. Thanks for reading!

But we had rain a couple days ago and the nights and mornings are too cool now, so she's been moved into the shed shown behind in this picture. This is her tort table inside the shed:



And this is Little Ben. I bought HER from @ben awes in October, last year, and she is now a little over a year of age.

He's adorable!! Thank you for sharing the pictures, much appreciated. I'm so curious about how other people have their setup ahah.

This is my enclosure for my little ones. It is an enclosed table. The upper level is divided in half. One side has my little guy Pepe. The other side has Andy, Brooke and Charlie. That side has the staircase that attaches it to the lower level.

I grow a lot of my own food. I get the grass land grazing seed mix from Carolina Seed Supply. They grow fast. I think an upgrade will be needed closer to a year than two.

That is Very cool! How was the staircase built?? What substrates do you use?

Thanks for the heads up how fast would you say they grew and do they need a special light if his enclosure it inside?

My husband is a genius. It is actually pretty simple. He drilled a hole through a stack of stairs. Put a rod through the hole and fanned them out. I use coco Coir.

It depends on the tortoise, but they grow pretty quick. My trio is only 6 months and are about 4 inches already. My Pepe though is growing very slow. He is almost 10months and still less than 3 inches.This is Pepe. My Avatar is the trio when I first got them.

O yeah I also use sphagnum moss and a little Cyprus mulch too.

Yes on the light question. You need a UVB bulb. Not a coil bulb. They cause eye problems.

I apologize I wasn't very clear when I asked about the light lol, but I was wondering if the seeds need a special light if grown in the enclosure
