Hello fellow friends! I am new to the tortoise community but am thrilled to be here. I just got my first tortoise, and certainly not my last, for days ago. It is a cherry head tortoise hatchling (age and gender unknown), about 2.5 to 3 inches big. On that more could anyone help me solidify its gender, I believe it is a female based on the"V" shape. Here is a picture.

It's impossible to sex at this age. You'll need to wait a few years before we'll be able to sex with any certainty.
