Ok so I've been looking for the best pet lizard. I don't really want to get a beardy or a leopard gecko. I was thinking more along the lines of a green tree monitor of a frilly, any body have and advice?

Yes I want arboreal and idk about a crested gecko I'm hoping for a lizard that can just chill on my shoulder or something like that a calm one who likes to be handled green tree monitors are quite skidding but I have read they can calm down.

I find most arboreal to be more jumpy. If it didn't have to be arboreal I was going to suggest a blue tongued skink. The pink tongue skink is similar but somewhat arboreal. Check them out. Not easy to find though.

No monitor species is going to chill on your shoulder.

Fair enough but does anyone have any ideas on frilled dragons?

The few that I have seen have been similar in demeanor to a beardie, but a bit wilder and more flighty. Some of them are bitey.

There is a place nearby called the DFW reptarium and they have pink tongue skinks I will look into that. They seem fun but do they burrow?

yes, they like to hide under logs and leaf litter, but are also very fond of burrowing.

I've read a lot about pink tongues, and I'm interested in the species, but I've never taken the plunge. If you get one, please make a new thread and share lots of pics and info with us. I'd really like to learn more.

I think about 18 inches but slender. So not real big. The blue tongued skink k is bigger but not arboreal.

You said earlier that you weren't thinking of a beardie, but have you heard of the "German Giant" variety? They supposedly get a little bigger than the normal ones. I have no first hand experience, but I've read 24" in some cases.
