I've been on the net for the past 2.5 hours, specifically Tortoise Forum. I have managed to send alerts as well as "likes," and saw that all was ok till about twenty minutes ago, when something suddenly went wrong: I received a good number of alerts and "likes." However when I went into the said alert/ "like" it WAS NOT AVAILABLE! I checked time and once again but just could NOT find ANY NEW WRITTEN ALERT.

Your help would be highly appreciated here. Thank you.

I posted the above thread and got NO reply from anyone as far as the issue is concerned. Moreover, the same same has happened time and once again. At the moment I have three new alerts at the top right-hand side of my screen, where the number 3 is in RED. I went into it once again to find NOTHING! PLEASE, PLEASE help! Thank you.

I don't know how to fix your problem, but it may just be a temporary glitch. Josh probably won't be back on until Monday, so you'll have to wait until then.

Personally, I think the alerts are a nuisance. I've turned all mine off. That might be something for you to check. Scroll your mouse over your name up in the right hand corner and from the drop down menu click 'alerts,' and make sure they're set the way you want them set.

Sorry to have to say this and please don't take it personal Yvonne: turning alerts 'off' would not solve the issue. I do realize that you don't know how to solve it. You mentioned that you think alerts are a niusance. May I ask WHY? If it's personal you needn't answer...I respect privacy.

In the meantime, I have just done what you suggested and all was fine: I only checked it and did not change a single thing, so why this happened only GOD knows. At the same time, your alert is the first I receive since the problem began.

Thanks a lot your help, appreciate it.

No I didn't mean for you to turn yours off. I meant for you to go to the alert screen and make sure they're all turned on like you want them.

I turned it off because I was getting too many to keep track of. I already spend too much time looking for spammers and keeping peace in the threads. I don't have time to check out all the alerts. Since I read almost every post anyway, there's no need for anyone to @ me because I see it without an alert.

See? I've received your second alert but not the alerts from others, which confirms that something is wrong. It seems I'm going to have to leave it till Monday. Once again thanks your help.

Yes, it is what I did. I did not turn the alerts off. I made sure that they are exactly the way I wanted them to be and they were. I didn't have to change a single thing. Strange isn't it?
