Did you try bell pepper, my tortoise really loves it. And what kind of lettuce is it because iceberg lettuce makes the tortoise lazy.

Any age is fine, it's just how you take care of your tortoise that matters. Like I'm 11 years old and I had my tortoise for 5 months, he is healthy and I always take him outside for a walk. He seems pretty happy.

Going back to the second reply, I also thought that is was okay for my tortoise to eat iceberg lettuce, but apparently iceberg lettuce makes your tortoise lazy. So I recommend feeding him/her kale and maybe bell pepper instead.
