    Thanks Coastal!! Will probably add some granite slabs to ensure this is possible. The idea of shell rot is scary. Constant high humidity and temperature (26-32 Celsius) isn't a problem?

    Sorry, id like to know the answer to this too. Mine are kept outside in a tropical (or ultra tropical) environment and it can get pretty rainy leaving the substrate moist much of the time. Any harm in this? My torts have access to a dry sheltered spot too but they seem to revel in the rain.
