LOL that 7th day comment made me laugh! This thread was helpful to me. I think I have been feeding my Russian too much lettuce mix. Its just so easy. I fed him 2 green beans tonight and he gobbled them, is that okay? There are so many weeds here but they are tough to identify.

I have a Russian and I traded in my large aquarium for a table. The table os more spacious and has better air flow. He is much happier now.

I found my Russian sleeping like that the other day. I thought she was dead! My heart sunk. I called her name and she didn't wake so I poked at her with a flower and she popped into her shell. Whew! She normally sleeps in her log hide.

Okay thanks everyone. I so have reptile carpet, but the wood floor is so easy to clean. The light is anchored on the plant. It is very heavy, but I will see if I can build a hanger. I did it in an effort to make the light vertical, not horizontal.

I actually got a tort because I had an aquarium and wanted something other than fish. I soon after joined the forum and learned she needed a 4x8' space minimum. She is on her third enclosure and third set of lighting, but I think I finally nailed it.

Is your toryoise named Terra by chance? I just noticed your username is similar to mine. I only put her out in her outdoor enclosure during the day in the summers when temps are btw 70-95, so she lives mostly indoors.
