    Red cheeked mud turtles.

I've recently acquired a pair of red cheeked mud turtles. They are great and have shown a lot of breeding behavior. I noticed initially that the female is baking on the land portion at all times. The previous owner did mention this but from his observation it was due to the male being a bit...

    Changed enclosure a bit!

Thanks Yvonne G. I pay it down often but now that I let the top of the substrate dry out, I find it hard to keep that layer compact.

    Changed enclosure a bit!

Thank you. Before I got my tort and I was lurking in this forum my favorite thing to do was browse through enclosures. I will be documenting any changes I make to his enclosure. Hoping to build my own closed chamber enclosure one day.

    Changed enclosure a bit!

I recently made a few changes to Mr. Turtles enclosure. Here's a link to it before http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/new-hatchling-new-enclosure.100989/#post-942907 I created a new hide and got rid of the terra cotta pot. I used four left over paver bricks I had in the shed and created a...

    Mold problem!

I should have mentioned that I was keeping the substrate extremely wet. I drained as much water as I could on Saturday as well. Now I'm keeping the top layer dry to were it gets a light tan color and under that layer its still moist.
