    I put the heating on this morning in the house and he seems more lively. Eating and walking around. I also advanced his light time by half an hour as you suggested. So fingers crossed it was just that he was getting chilly :)

    He is on a table top indoor enclosure in our living room and we use basking lamp and UVA/UVB light which are both on 9-5 every day and food we give him rocket, watercress, tomatoes, cucumber, butternut squash, broccoli, but all he seems to really like is the squash but we keep it alternate...

    The size of his enclosure is 30x18x6 inches with a basking bulb and UVB/UVA bulb. These are on from 9am - 5pm.     Any advice and tips would be Hugely appreciative as he has kinda stopped eating in the last week and is not as active. We are thinking it's maybe him putting himself into hibernation as we have been told not to put him into hibernation for the first year.

    We have called him "Sherlock" and he lives in a table top enclosure. We have had him since march and have been advised not to hibernate him for the first year.

    My horsefield is behaving similar and I will extend his UVB light to fool him out of hibernation as he is 10 and we got him from a rehoming place and they said for the first year don't hibernate. A little reassuring to hear someone with a Russian is experiencing the same

    Hi. We got our tortoise in march and he has been fine until a week or so ago and he has slowed right down on eating and sleeps a lot. Is this normal? Is he preparing to hibernate??? He is 10 years old and as its our first to own we are not sure. Any advice would be good. Many thank
