    Finished Outdoor Tortoise House!

We found a heavy duty crate on craigslist for free, and turned it into a new and improved house for Roy, our leopard. It took a little while and included some trial and error. I was going to copy Tom's house for the most part, but after calculating the cost of wood here in southern California...

Rehydrated substrate- help! It was a mess!

I have a 14 year old leopard and want to redo his hidebox. I read in one of the posts that coir helped the humidity, but you're right. It's SUPER messy. I definitely don't mind it, if that's what needs to be done. But I'm a beginner. I've got bulbs overhead and an electric heater. No timer yet...

Rehydrated substrate- help! It was a mess!

I bought the blocks of dehydrated substrate (not sure of the exact name as I don't have them right in front of me). But I was told by some reptile 'experts' at a store that it would help to increase humidity. I believe it's a coco based one. I added water to it in a bucket and let it sit and...

    plants for indoor vivarium

How about trying a groundcover variety in a pot such as red apple? Then it will also hang over and he can hide under it and/or munch on it.

    I adopted a grown leopard

I adopted a leopard this past summer from the San Diego Tortoise Society. They did not have a history on him and are guessing he's around 14 years old. I did so much research before getting him and continue to do so. He did fantastic from August through October and then developed an upper...

    Well, Heeeeeeeere's Mo!!!

Thank you for the photos and explanation of how to make it. Mo's living in the Ritz Carlton for tortoises! Love the cameras too. I can't wait to show this to my hubby and see what we can come up with. Which areas seem to be his favorite parts to frequent within the entire enclosure?

    Well, Heeeeeeeere's Mo!!!

Oh my gosh, you're set up is amazing! Can you post a picture of the humid hide? I would love to hear how you set that portion up so that I might be able to set up something similar. The only thing is that my leopard is big, so I'll need to set up something larger. If anyone else also has ideas...

Thank you to all of You who helped with your guidance and support for my little Leopard

Hello, I'm new to this forum and also have a leopard. I've been reading posts here and am about to make some serious changes to help my tortoise thrive! I have a couple questions about the diet you're referring to. What is the vitamix? Is the mazuri for young/growing tortoises or all sizes? Thanks!
