I am a children and youth pastor currently living in the San Francisco Bay area. I have a 22 year old box turtle, my first turtle/tortoise ever. I was given her as a somewhat spur of the moment decision after a series of unfortunate circumstances. I love her dearly but am embarrassed to say I've been learning as I go, which is never the way one should own a pet. I'm hoping to avoid some of the unforseen shocks by joining a forum and learning her best care as much ahead of time as I can.
