Amazing!
I'm going to be honest, my first thought is just "smuggle" the tort back to your home. :( His current living area is horribly tiny, please try to help him out of it!
Hello there! I was wondering what plants are happy to sprout/grow in a mix of peat moss and coconut coir substrate? I am thinking that having some little yummy greens for my hermanni may be a good thing, especially if they are fresh! I don't mind if they get mowed down before the plant can grow...
Yvonne meant a heat emitting light, a tube doesn't give off heat! Because the enclosure is so open, it will not retain any heat, and since heat rises, the heat from your 2 bulbs will go up more than down into your enclosure.
Seriously, do not get a pair! It can be really harmful for the tortoises to live like that. If you want to get another, build another enclosure for it.
Saline solution is usually my first bet if any of my pets have an eye issue, go nuts with that stuff! If your tort has a dusty substrate in some areas (under basking area perhaps?) it may just be a bit of substrate in his eye. Hopefully that's all it is!
So, I should be getting a hermann's hatchling from Slow N' Steady Tortoises in May! I cannot express how pleased I am OuO
Now, as for unboxing and care for the first lil' while, does anyone have any suggestions that could make it all go along more smoothly for the lil' tyke?
I'm planning on getting a tort, and I am also planning to start hormone replacement therapy within the next five years. I know that with many pets, they don't notice the difference as the changes in their owner happen quite slowly, but I was wondering if anyone had any idea how this would all...
