Thank you so much that is very helpful! I don't feel comfortable trying to get her to hibernate so I'll just keep her up and in warm conditions so it's never an issue! She seems very active so I don't think she's even trying to hibernate on her own or anything and she eats like a cow lol!
Do you have to hibernate your tortoise every year? We just got ours and she's pretty small, I'm just not comfortable with her hibernating for months at a time. I don't think I have enough information on the subject
Oh never mind that then, I'm going to take it back, I'm not about to put something on her to make her shell soft and then have her get sick from it. Thanks for the info, that's good to know!
Are you saying it will make them sick? Or sticky? If it will make them sick then I will stop use immediately but mine doesn't get sticky, the substance feels a lot like coconut oil and it actually has coconut oil and sunflower oil and other oils in it
They make a turtle vitashell, it's a skin and shell conditioner and you put it on your tort like lotion every 3 weeks and it keeps them moisturized really well! It was about 5$ at my local pet store!
Thanks, it doesn't matter to me either way I was just curious! Does anyone happen to know how much I should feed her a day? She will just continuously eat whatever I put in there and just doesn't stop!
Hello everyone, I have just adopted a hermanns tort, I'm pretty sure she is very young and maybe still a hatchling. I'm just not sure which subspecies she is! Any info or tips are more then welcome!,
