Found this plant growing in my yard. What is it and is it safe to feed my Russian Tortoise?

It's prickly lettuce or a relative chicory. All chicories are safe to feed—dandelions are a chicory.

Whether your Russian will eat it I cant say. They get bitter growing in the heat; my Russian is about 50/50 on them at this point in the year.
