From what I can see, that looks correct
Question:Make sure your overall temperature doesnt exceed 89.
It's easy to overheat a RF.
Here also in Broward county. I find it unnecessary to use additional heat with a closed chamber that has a strip florescent uvb light. Even with my A/C turned on at 73 degrees. It keeps a steady 82 degrees inside with humidity of up over 75%.
For a Redfoot, humidity is just as important as warmth.
You want warmth. Not high heat. And as little bright lighting as is necessary.
Just the transformer in my simple UVB light provides enough heat and supplies both heat and UVB.
It works out great.
Again. That wire cage will make what you need to do nearly impossible
Zerpilot, I'm still learning who everyone is, but you seem super knowledgeable. I received my t5 uv light strip early. Would doing an under the mesh lid-mount make it too close to my little guy? From what I can see, that looks correct
To use for 12 hours. Probably.Zerpilot, I'm still learning who everyone is, but you seem super knowledgeable. I received my t5 uv light strip early. Would doing an under the mesh lid-mount make it too close to my little guy?
I ended up rigging it to sit on top of the mesh lid and cut an exact rectangle to match thr light so there is nothing blocking thr light. That allows it to stand 12 in from where he walks. Also, my humidity just skyrocketed by placing that t5. 🤯🥳To use for 12 hours. Probably.
How far from the tortoise will it be in inches? Is it a 5.0 or 10.0?
You could just use it for 2 or 3 hours a day.
