Zebra Trapdoor Snails. Does anybody know anything about these guys? I put some in my fish pond this spring, Well they flourished. They are HUGE, breeding, loving life. However Can these guys stay in the pond over winter or do I need to bring them in with the razor back musk when it starts to get colder in a few months?

No what you need to do, is to send them to me when your cold weather hits. :D Actually I have no idea. I did look them up and learned that trapdoors don't do the egg cluster thing. They sound neat. So where is the picture so we can ooooh and ahhhh over them?

HAHA send them to you. NE gets super cold. When does the weather start turning cold for you up there anyways?

They are neat, they keep the algea under control in the pond.

What I have found is that they can be housed in the pond over cold winters. I have no personal experience with them though.

Didn't specify "Zebra", but check this out. The little ones come from Japan and the big ones come from Iowa. Apparently, they can handle the cold weather just fine because the don't stick a snorkel up and breathe cold air. This also means that if their pond freezes over, they don't drown.

I have never saw an aphid on a cactus. Do they actually go for them?

I dunno. :D maybe. I do know theyre are certain bugs that utilize a simbiotic relationship with succulents. They look like styrofoam. You can use dawn dish soap and water and wipe them off.
