Hey everybody,

Several weeks ago I opened my Torts enclosure to find that she had chipped her lower beak. I looked up several threads with a similar issue the recommendations were to use nail clippers to
to clip the lower beak. I don't know if this is necessary for her situation, but Im worried about how it will grow out. Shes still young so you can understand my hesitation. Further health details: she is Eating,Drinking & Urating properly.

Any and all advice is appreciated.

Thanks,

Its hard to see what is going on in the pics, but if the tortoises is eating well and acting normal, I'd leave it alone and keep and eye on it.

Im sorry my Phone camera is not the best and it was stressing her out to take the pics. It looks like a slight underbite. I just want to make sure it grows back normal.

How old is your tortoise? What do you typically feed?

I believe she is 7 months. I feed Kale, Endive, Mazzuri mush, Mustard Greens, Centipede grass, alfalfa sprouts which she's not a fan of. I dont have access to fresh weeds and grass all the time, but I try with what I have currently. I put a creeping Jenny in her enclosure she ate it till it died so I put in an aloe plant. I try not to default to the same foods but I prefer to feed calcium rich.

I also reference Tortoise table when I'm at the nursery which isn't too often.

Here's a zoomed in pic
I've never had this problem, but that doesn't seem like something that will fix itself.

Also, your torts should be much larger than that at this age. Something is off. Check this to see if we can figure it out:
