Look up Yellow spot disease (Austwickia) here on the forum. It's very important you keep this tortoise separate from any other tortoises. My local breeder told me , it's a fungus.
Any opinion?
Still eating and pooping, regulary.
Local Breed.Did your tortoise come from a local breeder or was it exported from the US?
That's not good to hear.......Local Breed.
You have seen the adult breeding animals or eggs being incubated?Local Breed.
He send me a live feed that i can see the other tortos that no sign of this yellow bump. You have seen the adult breeding animals or eggs being incubated?
possible spreading to human?if this is austwickia they will continue to eat like nothing is wrong unless part of the beak falls off. they will eat totally normally. the only time they dont eat is if part of the face falls off and they can not eat properly. without seeing them in hand again i can not be 1000% sure but it def looks like the same thing.
No. Practice excellent hand washing and hygiene so that it does not get spread into the environment (and to other captive reptiles or local wild reptiles).possible spreading to human?
I dont have other pet. Please follow @Toddrickfl1 advice and read about yellow spot disease / austwickia. There are many other posts on this topic including several from the past few weeks/months. Unless you can rule out Austwickia it is very important that you keep it away from other tortoises and all other reptiles including lizards.
In another recent thread @mastershake stated that it was not transmittable to humans.
