IMG_0569.JPG IMG_0570.JPG IMG_0571.JPG I live in Southern California and live across the street from a nature preserve. I know some of the plants are safe for my CDT but I have been having a hard time IDing a few..

That looks like a hot desert plant. I doubt it would grow anywhere else, it looks sparse and tall, like other desert specific plants.

Take a look at Witch's Broom and see it that looks like your plant.

After spending the weekend searching, I think it might be called telegraph weed however I'm not sure if this type of plant is safe for my CDT to eat..
