I recently celebrated World Turtle Day in a big way by constructing this massive pond for our Red Eared Slider and Mississippi Map Turtle. Some of you may might remember pictures of my old pond (which was still nice) but putting the minimum for just one turtle. It was around 50 gallons.

And here's the new pond! I can't get an exact volume of water because it's such an odd shape but from what I've found online it's between 150 gallons and 180 gallons. Thanks to my good friend Ryan for helping get it from my deck to my basement lol.

And here's some pictures of the build.

And the two turtles calling this home.

I found it on Kijiji for $35... steal of a deal if you ask me. The lumber cost another $30 because I had gift cards and the OSB board was scraps left over from other projects. I sunk around $80 into this.

I'm looking for one of these, what should I search to try and find one? I won't need it for a while my turtles are still hatching size but in a few years I might

Do you have that inside or outside?

I wish!!! I am currently running two smaller cannisters (Fluval 206's). I have one on either end...I had these filters already and obviously didn't plan on getting a massive pond lol. I will be upgrading filtration one day I am sure.

I found mine used... check your local classifieds? If you want to buy new, try landscaping companies, hardware stores, garden centres and even some pet stores.

Wow, great job with it.

Thank you! It should is something special in my reptile room. I sat on my stool the other day watching the pond for like 20 minutes = peaceful!
