I decided to build a new closed chamber to house a leopard tort. Here is my draft, feel free to throw out some ideas. I will line the bottom 5 inches with a pool liner and paint the inside with a kills product to keep rot away. Its not as big as I would like, but its just for a few years until I feel comfortable leaving it outside full time. I will have everything on timers and it will be completely climate controlled. The top will be attached with latches so I can have easy access to the electronic devices, but I will primarily use the front for feeding and watering. In a perfect world it would be bigger.

Thoughts?

I think it's very nice as long as your Leopard is only a baby.
For a baby "anything" this is really cool and well thought out.

Yes it's only for a baby. We have around 100 acres for my torts when they get larger

Started on the closed chamber today, it's 4'Lx 2'6"W it's 27" high. I might make a small 2nd story to make up for the width, I just don't have space where it's going. Everything will be controlled with timers and it will have a digital thermostat.

So far it's looking pretty good. However, I would put the thermostat at tort level, where it's important. Heat rises so it's always going to be hotter at the top.

What materials are you using? Is that front plexiglass door a slider I'm guessing?

Looks good, looking forward to more.

Yes that front is plexiglass, I'm putting a hinge with a latch so it can snap closed air tight. I'm going to put a raised frame on the front door just to make it look better.
