I've had my own experience with buying a very sick star tortoise and thanks to very great vets he survive and is doing great now. I read on this forum all the time about someone else who has a sick star which usually ends up dying. I remember a post by elegans asking when will people stop buying illegal stars , but the real question is when will others stop smuggling them. Read this article.
