If I play a wind instrument in my room such as Trumpet of Flute will it hurt my tortoises?

I meant Trumpet OR Flute

I don't think so. Torts don't hear as good as they feel vibrations. Although they do hear. I would not play it right over top his enclosure and maybe even cover the enclosure if its not, just while your playing and see how he reacts. If he seems to be bothered then don't do it. See what others might say.

I'm sure the tortoises have a different audible range than humans. But I'm not sure if the volume of the trumpet would be scary or the pitch of the flute would be painful, however normal television and speech ranges don't seem to bother my russian torts.

Set up a video camera and start playing in the next room. Then, look at the torts reactions on the video. If the tort seems startled then don't continue unless you move far away.

My tortoises are housed in my home office where I also keep my instruments. They don't seemed to be bothered by the music.
