Hello,
A box turtle has decided to make my back yard his home. We are very happy about this. We noticed he has two bumps on one side of his head. Looking on the Internet, ear abscesses seem the most likely cause, though the bumps don't look inflamed like the pictures I saw... My question is, should I bring him to a vet or would I be causing him even more stress than if we left him alone?
Thanks in advance.
Steph

Looks like one to me. It probably won't go away by itself. You can wait & see if they get bigger. WOW he\she is colorful!!

I doubt those are what we normally see as ear abscesses, but they do need a vet's attention. He'll need to be kept away from flies after he's been treated, but it would be ok to release him back into your yard after he's healed.
