White spots on tortoise face.

Hi, sorry im new this and a new tortoise owner. I have a young leopard tortoise, and I’ve noticed two white patches on his face. I’ve bathed him, but not sure if it’s shedding. Can anyone help? I’ll attach photos if not I’ll take him to the vets. He seems to be eating still but not as active as he usually is.

Hi there! Is it possible for you to post some more pics, maybe get them a bit clearer and closer up so we can see what you mean? We would like to try and help. Also if you could describe how you keep him, his enclosure, temperatures, humidity level etc.?

I see the white areas but have no idea about it. Someone here who is expert with this species will chime in and help! What is that substrate?
