So I was doing my weekly inspection on spike my red foot and came across this white spot. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1426436995.424036.jpgShe's never had shell rot before and haven't seen any spots like this on her before. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That may be the beginning of marbling. Is there Cherryhead RF in his/her pedigree?

My Red is beginning to get white marks as well. It also appears to be marbeling. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1426437367.615124.jpg had me worried too! :p

Christina, what is shown there is definitely marbling though the plastron looks more Colombian than CH to me.

Shuggs, is yours showing something similar on the plastron?

No she doesn't have any marks on her plastron and there's no cherry head in her history. She just turned 5 last month. She also has a few other much smaller white spots. I just included the one because it's the biggest mark but I will include another pic. Thank you all for the quick replies. ImageUploadedByTortoise Forum1426438591.109418.jpg

"Just turned 5" as in 5 years? It seems a bit small for a 5 year old. If I am seeing it correctly, the white spots at the juncture of the vertebral and costal scutes also looks like marbling.

So glad to hear everyone is thinking marbeling. Sorry I meant she turned 5 years old she's 8 inches long. 1370 grams
