my red foot has been getting grayer scales lately and perhaps it is nothing but I was just wondering if this is anything to worry about would appreciate help thank you
The lighter spots on the front arm scales just looks dry, but the spots on the plastron COULD be the initial stages of some fungus. I’ll defer to others like @Toddrickfl1@ZenHerper & @ZEROPILOT for their RF expertise & proactive treatment.
Anything like cement or ruff rocks that its rubbing on, even siding or wood? That's what it looks like to me.
If you want, you can treat the shell with antifungal cream like what is sold for athletes foot. If it's not fungal it won't hurt by treating it.
The leg just looks dry.
It just looks like a superficial scrarch to me too.
But from my experience a fungal issue can start in an area that is previously damaged/rubbed.
I'd put a little smear of ATHLETES FOOT cream on the areas that look scraped and then relax.
You can buy the expensive ATHLETES FOOT cream at the pharmacy or the one for a dollar at the dollar store. It all does about the same thing and in the same amount of time.
Its probably wise to have a tube handy if you keep Redfoot torts anyway.
As for the gray....Are you soaking him/her?
What kind of substrate are you using?
He does look dry.
