Hello everyone, I have just adopted a hermanns tort, I'm pretty sure she is very young and maybe still a hatchling. I'm just not sure which subspecies she is! Any info or tips are more then welcome!,ImageUploadedByTortForum1392735731.160408.jpgImageUploadedByTortForum1392735766.880225.jpg

Location (City and/or State)
Europe
At the moment it looks like a boetgeri. But it's hard to identify the 3 subspecies when they are hatchlings. So wait some years and you would be sure if the subspecies!

Thanks, it doesn't matter to me either way I was just curious! Does anyone happen to know how much I should feed her a day? She will just continuously eat whatever I put in there and just doesn't stop!

It's definitely an eastern and may possibly be the Dalmatian strain. A plastron shot will help to tell.

The burrowing is totally normal. Mine burrow quite often in the slightly moist substrate.
I'm not able to distinguish from the plastron shot but hopefully hermannichris chimes back in with his thoughts.

I'm having a hard time seeing if the animal has inguinal scutes or not but it does appear to be eastern. Babies of the eastern strains are nearly impossible to differentiate while a western is noticeable from a distance.

Ok thanks for all your help! I'll just have to wait for her to grow so we can figure it out [SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES]
