Which species is my tortoise?

Hey there. Got this little guy a few days ago so i was wondering what species he could be. Also if you have any tips about raising that particular species feel free to share them . I've been feeding him cucumbers so far, and let him live in our back yard. Seems to be a bit scared in his new surrounding but i'm sure he/she will get used to it haha.

I'm sure it's a male testudo of some sort, probably a Hermanni.

Male and Greek.

I was going by the plastron. Our I.D. sheet says the Hermanni have two dark splotches running down either side on the plastron and the Greek have one big splotch in the middle.

You should check out the care sheet on Greeks and pay attention to dietary needs. Cucumber is a rare treat not a healthy food staple.

Hello, and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum.
Definitely a male and I'm going for eastern Hermann's - Testudo hermanni boettgeri.
Based on carapace colouring, the black splodges on the plastron and the size of the fellow.

That is an adult male hermanni. Care for the three most common Testudo species is similar. Here are some tips:
