Hello, I would like to know where I can buy food for my 2 Russian tortoises.
I am kinda new with turtles but I have had them for about a year
So if anyone could link some Web sites that are from Europe cause if I buy outside Europe I have to pay more where I live.

Thanks.

with best regards: Patrick :D

The poster is from Denmark.

Pattek you can find a good dried food to supplement your fresh foods, Pre Alpin Testudo, in Denmark, just Google it.

Make sure you get the Testudo version, the company makes food for all kinds of animals.

Are you asking about other kinds of foods besides pellets/dried food?

Are you wanting to buy foods from a grocery store or buy plants to grow at home?
I have to move soon where we are gonna get a Little garden so when its summer like it's now they have to go outside but at winter inside but right now i can't cause i live in an apartment i think it's called where we don't have one but we can't grow it cause my mom don't want that but we are getting a house to them in the garden. I would like to buy food u can buy grocery store but like i can't find plants they can eat all of it is like mostly snacks for them they don't need that always.

Here is a small starter list of plants that you can find or grow for them to eat. Also, tortoises should never live as a pair, and Russian tortoises are one of the worst species to do this with. Each of them need their own enclosure.

Mulberry leaves
Grape vine leaves
Hibiscus leaves
African hibiscus leaves
Blue hibiscus leaves
Rose of Sharon leaves
Rose leaves
Geraniums
Gazanias
Lavatera
Pansies
Petunias
Hostas
Honeysuckle
Cape honeysuckle
Leaves and blooms from any squash plant, like pumpkin, cucumber, summer squash, etc...
Young spineless opuntia cactus pads

Weeds:
There are soooooooo many...
Dandelion
Mallow
Filaree
Smooth Sow thistle
Prickly Sow thistle
Milk thistle
Goat head weed
Cats ear
Nettles
Trefoil
Wild onion
Wild mustard
Wild Garlic
Clovers
Broadleaf plantain
Narrow leaf plantain
Chick weed
Hawksbit
Hensbit
Hawksbeard

Other good stuff:
"Testudo Seed Mix" from http://www.tortoisesupply.com/SeedMixes
Pasture mixes or other seeds from http://www.groworganic.com/seeds.html
Homegrown alfalfa
Mazuri Tortoise Chow
ZooMed Grassland Tortoise Food

It will take some effort to learn your local weeds, but its the best food for your tortoise and weeds are also FREE! I sometimes find it helpful to make friends with the local plant nerd at the garden center or nursery for help in learning to ID all the different weeds and plants.

Be careful buying any of these plants because, over here, many of them are grown with systemic pesticides to keep them from being eaten by bugs. This is why I prefer to grow my own from seed.

There is a web site that contains quite a bit of info for keeping your type of tortoise in Sweden. This is the main site: http://www.testudohermanni.se/

And here is theIr page specific to feeding: http://testudohermanni.se/foder-2.html

Read this earlier post on our own forum here. It contains info from other owners in Sweden: https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/any-tortoise-owners-in-sweden.165051/

I was able to get a sense of what they were saying, just with my English. And it was quite easy to get all of it in English using Google Translate; have you tried that?

I imagine the available foods can’t be that far off from what you might find?
