Oh my gosh, look at the size of that tortoise! How cool is that.
That’s a hoot! Putting an address label on his shell. Why aren’t you suppose to do that?
Thanks for posting, great story.
I was curious where everyone purchased their tortoises.
Mine I got shipped from RED FOOT RANCH
I've known Rian. Owner of Underground Reptiles for over 25 years. (Back then he worked out of a tiny warehouse unit called "box of snakes".)Underground reptiles had good prices I thought. They were sold out too.
I am very happy with my little guy from Bill.
He has alot of pretty coloring. He isnt really a red foot, more like an orange foot.
I love it though, he is different.
Haha! I love it!
My tort is a sulcata, received from the notorious @Tom.
Clunker is about 8 months old.

Did you attend the circus while you were there?Julio. The tortoise I am keeping now was purchased from the SWAP SHOP. A gigantic flea market. She was sold to me as a male and was on pine shavings in a tiny aquarium with no water and some iceberg lettuce.
I believe she cost me $80.

At that size, the Sulcata might win any fight.I got my Sulcata from Abbots turtle farm in Cocoa Beach FL. He was a ping pong ball sized treasure .... I could be wrong but I think The Abbots May have passed away? Seems like i heard that. But They were very nice and helpful. View attachment 239324
Now , 16 Year’s later. Oscar likes to play chase with our bulldog. I know people frown on dogs and torts interacting. But they do seem to enjoy interacting with each other. Always supervised of coarse.

I also got my RFs from Charles Abbott of Abbott’s tortoise farm in Cocoa FL (Canaveral Groves). He and his wife have both passed away and his tortoise farm was closed. They were very informative and helpful. One of the five that I got from him was a Corn Island redfoot that is considerably smaller than the others I got from him. My first was purchased from him in 1985. All are over thirty years old.
