I see many members write down some number before tortoise species in their signature...what does they mean?

for example
2.4.2 Geochelone sulcata

What's the meaning of 2.4.2?

It means the number of sexes you have, so if you had a 4 males 2 females and 3 to young to be sexed you would put

4.2.0

It has no purpose whatsoever, it's just a quicker way to say what sexes you have!

So, one more question, when can tortoise start to sex? It depend on their species?

And as Yvonne wrote ...I doubted as follows..
3.0.0 kids --> kids is species' name?
1.0.0 husband --> husband is species's name?
1.1.0 Russians {mister,pumpkin}
2.2.1 Greeks {Henri, Alfie, Miya, Mini, Midget}

And Yvonne, why didn't you write "kids", "husband",,?
that are not species' name??

LOL! No, 3.0.0 means that she has three male human children. "kids" is a slang term we use here to identify our children.

And her human husband, spouse, mate is also a male so she has shown him as 1.0.0

I guess we DO talk pretty funny in English.
