What species is this?

My sister's neighbor has a tortoise do you guys know what species this is? It doesn't look like a Sulcuta.. Screenshot_20200427-171421_Messages.jpg

You guys are killing me! Now all we need is somebody callin it a Chaco, LOL.

For what it’s worth, I vote desert tortoise (or maybe Texas tortoise).

Head definitely looks like a Sulcata.

We need better pictures to be sure. From the rear it looks like a desert tortoise with the 5th vertebral that wide and the rear edge of the shell not very serrated. The first picture you posted just doesn't look like there is a nuchal, but its hard to see.

It looks smaller than a desert tortoise and still has the yellow parts in the middle of each scute, usually desert tortoises lose it. And the shell seems more gopherus berlandieri
