It's a map turtle. For me, who is not real familiar with several of the varieties, I would need a better picture. I would bet if you just Google it and compared pictures to what you have in your hand, you could quickly tell which one it is.

Looks like a map turtle to me. Type in map turtle pic on google to see if you can find one like it.

I like to see water turtles set up in outdoor ponds, but if that's not possible in your case, then a LARGE aquarium with a GOOD filter is a must.

It is a map turtle, it is a Graptemys geographica. If i am not mistaken

It is a Map turtle, everyone got that :). It is though a False map turtle, Graptemys pseudogeographica pseudogeographica. :D
